Join us to enable community impact
We are on a mission to empower Orang Asli communities! Earlier this year, EPIC Lead Pathfinders began basic mapping and conversations with village leaders to activate their local resources to develop their own communities. We have received their support to take the next step: Community Mapping.
We have received an overwhelming response from community members wanting to be a part of the community change. Hence this is our second community mapping mission to KOA Kuala Pangsun.
We are looking for individuals to join us as volunteer Pathfinders, to interview community members and collect information that will enable the sharing of community stories in a dignified and accurate manner to invite collaborators to partner alongside these communities to enable positive impact.
If you have a passion for communities, enjoy having conversations or like to explore new places and meet new people, we're inviting you to join us as Pathfinders Find out more about this village below!
About Kampung Orang Asli Kuala Pangsun
Kampung Orang Asli Kuala Panson
Set beside the Langat River and surrounded by the greenery of Gunung Nuang Forest, Kampung Orang Asli Kuala Panson is a gazetted Temuan village. It is full of life, tradition, and natural charm. With around 500 to 600 residents and approximately 150 families the village is proud of its cultural roots. Many villagers still practise traditional crafts like basket weaving and making the sumpit, a bamboo blowpipe.
The villagers aspire to improve their housing condition and they are keen to develop ecotourism and small local businesses with the right support. A visit here offers a meaningful experience and an opportunity to stand alongside a community that continues to preserve its heritage while striving for a brighter future.
