We are on a mission to empower communities in Johor! In September, EPIC Lead Pathfinders began basic mapping and conversations with village leaders to activate their local resources to develop their own communities. We have received their support to take the next step: Community Mapping.

We are looking for individuals to join us as volunteer Pathfinders, to interview community members and collect information that will enable the sharing of community stories in a dignified and accurate manner to invite collaborators to partner alongside these communities to enable positive impact.

About Kampung Orang Asli Tanjung Tuan

This beautiful village is located at river bank of the Endau River, along the Pahang-Johor border. This majority Jakun village is home to approximately 52 families and 167 villagers. The villagers enjoy fishing in their free time. Their main income source is foraging natural resources and either odd jobs or permanent employment at the nearby palm oil estates. 

Although small, the village is resilient. They aspire for new homes and safe play spaces for their community.

Who are the Pathfinders

Pathfinders are volunteers in the EPIC Community. They get to know the community on a household level. 

What does it mean for you?

As a Pathfinder, you will get to meet families at their homes, speak with them and get to know them and how they live their lives.
