Mapping Kampung Orang Asli Bukit Tadom - Banting, Selangor - Missions - Sedunia

Mission Description

Mapping Kampung Orang Asli Bukit Tadom

Join us to enable community impact

We are on a mission to empower communities in Selangor! In May 2025, Epic Lead Pathfinders began basic mapping and conversations with village leaders to activate their local resources to develop their own communities. We have received their support to take the next step: Community Mapping.

We are looking for individuals to join us as volunteer Pathfinders, to interview community members and collect information that will enable the sharing of community stories in a dignified and accurate manner, and to invite collaborators to partner alongside these communities to enable positive impact.

If you have a passion for communities, enjoy having conversations or like to explore new places and meet new people, we're inviting you to join us as Pathfinders to map a village in Selangor. Find out more about this village below!

About Kampung Orang Asli Bukit Tadom

Kampung Orang Asli Bukit Tadom is a Temuan village in Selangor, rooted in deep cultural traditions and spiritual beliefs. The community honours animist customs, including sacred burial rituals, ancestral spirits, and a strong sense of spiritual connection to their land. They celebrate unique festivities like Hari Monyang alongside Hari Raya, and traditional skills such as floral weaving and Sewang dancing are still practised and passed down.

Their aspirations include upgrading homes, starting goat or fish farming, courses on weaving for the youth, improving their kindergarten facilities (playground), and exploring online businesses. The community also dreams of receiving more knowledge and support in areas like agriculture and financial literacy.

Mapping the Village:
We are looking for 10 Pathfinders to map this village.
Mapping date & time: 22nd June 2025, 9:00am to 5:00pm
Location: Kampung Orang Asli Bukit Tadom

Who are Pathfinders?

Pathfinders assist the Lead Pathfinders to engage with communities. They use conversational skills to gather accurate information and data, which can then be used to tell compelling stories that inspire change.

Pathfinders must be able to speak Malay at a basic conversational level.

Training: The Pathfinder Workshop

Interested but don't know what to expect or don't have the skillset to do so? Don't worry! We provide the training to equip you with the necessary skills to do so! (This training is compulsory for all).

The pathfinding mission will happen on the 22nd June 2025, with the workshop being held on Thursday 19th June 2025 online on Google Meets.
