Join us to enable community impact
We are on a mission to empower communities in Selangor! In May 2025, Epic Lead Pathfinders began basic mapping and conversations with village leaders to activate their local resources to develop their own communities. We have received their support to take the next step: Community Mapping.
We are looking for individuals to join us as volunteer Pathfinders, to interview community members and collect information that will enable the sharing of community stories in a dignified and accurate manner, and to invite collaborators to partner alongside these communities to enable positive impact.
If you have a passion for communities, enjoy having conversations or like to explore new places and meet new people, we're inviting you to join us as Pathfinders to map a village in Selangor. Find out more about this village below!
About Kampung Orang Asli Bukit Perah
Kampung Orang Asli Bukit Perah is a Temuan village located in Selangor. Home to over 160 residents, it is deeply rooted in animist traditions, with most households maintaining “Pondok Moyang” as a place of spiritual significance. The villagers practise traditional weaving, though such skills are now rare, and they still rely on forest resources and fishing for daily needs. Despite limited facilities, they value education and send their children to nearby schools.
The community has a strong sense of identity and is cautious of outsiders, especially those attempting to impose beliefs. Their aspirations include improving unfinished infrastructure, reviving cultural crafts like weaving, and creating safer living spaces. They also hope for better waste management, expanded housing to reduce overcrowding, and stronger community initiatives

We are looking for 10 Pathfinders to map this village.
