Join us to enable community impact
We are on a mission to empower communities in Selangor! In May 2025, Epic Lead Pathfinders began basic mapping and conversations with village leaders to activate their local resources to develop their communities. We have received their support to take the next step: Community Mapping.
We are looking for individuals to join us as volunteer Pathfinders, to interview community members and collect information that will enable the sharing of community stories in a dignified and accurate manner, and to invite collaborators to partner alongside these communities to enable positive impact.
If you have a passion for communities, enjoy having conversations or like to explore new places and meet new people, we're inviting you to join us as Pathfinders to map a village in Selangor. Find out more about this village below!
About Kampung Orang Asli Bukit Dugang
Kampung Orang Asli Bukit Dugang is a Temiar village located in Dengkil, Selangor, with a long history that predates modern development in the area. The villagers take pride in their ancestral land and the peaceful environment it offers. Most families practise a mix of Islam, Christianity, and traditional beliefs, with a strong spirit of unity that brings the entire community together during life events and festivals such as Hari Raya and Chinese New Year. The village is active in gotong-royong and values cleanliness and cooperation. Skills like traditional weaving and herbal medicine still exist.
Their main aspiration is to have more homes built to reduce overcrowding and ensure each family has space and comfort. The villagers are open to collaboration, eager to welcome visitors, and hope for sustained support to improve living conditions and preserve their culture.
