What?
Toy Libraries Malaysia has been setting up toy libraries across Malaysia. The Toy library is to provide a platform for early childhood education and the organisation believes it is very crucial and key to the learning and communication development of the child and to help them thrive in their entire formal educational life.
They have been working with Idaman Apartment residents association in Damansara Damai and various partners to set up the Toy Library for the community. The Toy Library will serve many families and their children in Idaman Apartment who are mostly lower income families where it gives the children a good platform in early childhood education.
What is a toy library?
A toy library! It is generally like a books library but with toys. Kids are allowed to borrow them to play around the vicinity or back home for a certain period of time. A librarian will be assigned to this library to keep record of toys. A play and learning space is to be provided for the children and parents, especially mothers to use as part of the toy library spatial requirements
What will you be doing?
You will be getting your hands dirty putting together the structure, walls, floors and roofs for the toy library! This includes assembling together a structure with timber, steel, and fiber cement boards and getting a chance to work with power tools on a mini construction site!
Who is eligible?
Anyone who is 18 and above and is interested in creating social impact in early childhood education!
A briefing pack will be sent to you prior to the build.
Provide quality early childhood education to communities in a PPR setting.

Personally as my 1st build (though partial), it's a great practical experience after having gone through the Basic Builder's Workshop with EPIC.
All thanks to everyone involved; volunteers, sponsors, organisers and especially the JMB/residents who took good care of our food & drinks to keep everyone going throughout the sunny day.
