Mission Description

Assisting Hulu Tamu villagers to build the concrete base for water tanks

What's Happening?
Hulu Tamu Villagers are building their own gravity feed water system by piping water from Lata Huup in Sg Pagah, 5km away and 130m higher than the village.

Planning begun with EPIC Communities's facilitation and Engineers Without Borders Malaysia's consultation in January 2018, and four 500GL water tanks have already been prepared with a shelter in the village since August 2018. They have since cleared a 5km forest route, completed laying out pipes along the route, maintenance for the main tank shelter as well as successfully had water channelling from the water source to the main tanks.

As we continue the journey in Phase 2, the villagers are now requesting assistance to build the concrete case for the water tanks. This will include mixing and pouring concrete, carrying sand, gravel and cement and transporting from one location to another.
