What is Pathfinders?
Pathfinders is a movement that aims to seek and actualise the potential in marginalised communities such as the Orang Asli. We support these communities in achieving their aspirations through identifying actionable opportunities and growing community partnerships.
Through understanding someone's aspirations and struggles, we can best find ways to mutually support each other. Join us on our journey to better inform the world and its decisions to build a more co-operative and resilient future for all!
Why go Pathfinding?
We believe that everyone in the world wants to do good. We volunteer and donate, hoping that our small contributions can make an impact.
However, sometimes our well intended actions can have negative impacts as we often assume what people need. At Pathfinders, we strive to help communities by identifying their needs and connecting them to support networks.
Knowing the needs of a community is the important first step to really helping so do come and join the workshop!
Purpose of the Workshop
In order to participate in our Pathfinding missions, one must attend a Pathfinders workshop first.
Everyone is welcome to join - we will equip you with the necessary community engagement skills and be there for you every step of your Pathfinding journey!
When and Where?
We will be conducting the workshop on 11th May 2019 (Saturday) from 10am-12.30pm at The Compass.
After attending the workshop, you are eligible to attend our Pathfinding missions. Our next Pathfinding mission will take place at Kampung Orang Asli Sungai Kelubi on 19th May 2019.
We aim to help bridge communities by equipping individuals with community engagement skills.
Reviews from mission participants (1)
I’m most glad I have spent my Saturday morning with passionate people of Epic and other like-minded participants. The workshop has opened my eyes to the process that goes behind an Epic Build and what comes before it. It’s a lot of work but a very important one in order to identify the families’ and overall, the community’s needs.
Our coordinators are most warm & friendly, and have made everyone feel welcomed to be as open and honest with their thoughts. I think the lead coordinator expanded the core principles really well and some points really came through through small interactions and group discussions. I’m grateful for this experience and hopefully will be able to apply & expand my engagement skill to my own community in the future :)
