Pathfinders Mapping Kampung Orang Asli Ulu Batu, Gombak - Missions - Sedunia

Mission Description

Pathfinders Mapping KOA Ulu Batu

Join us to get to know Kampung Orang Asli Ulu Batu!

We are on a mission to empower communities in Selangor! In early November, EPIC Lead Pathfinders began basic mapping and conversations with village leaders to activate their local resources to develop their own communities. We have received their support to take the next step: Community Mapping.

We are looking for individuals to join us as volunteer Pathfinders, to interview community members and collect information that will enable the sharing of community stories in a dignified and accurate manner to invite collaborators to partner alongside these communities to enable positive impact.

If you have a passion for communities, enjoy having conversations or like to explore new places and meet new people, we're inviting you to join us as Pathfinders to map Kampung Orang Asli Ulu Batu in Gombak! Find out more about this village below!

About Kampung Orang Asli Ulu Batu

Kampung Orang Asli Ulu Batu was previously known as Kampung Batang Batu. The community relocated to the current area in 1993, a relatively new village. The village is home to over 190 villagers, mostly of Temuan descent. The village is located near the Ulu Yam river and near a forest area. The community enjoys tending their durian farms, fishing and farming in their free time.

Interested in getting to know this community? Come and join us as Pathfinders!

Who are the Pathfinders

Pathfinders are volunteers in the EPIC Community. They get to know the community on a household level.

As a Pathfinder, you will get to meet families at their homes, speak with them and get to know them and how they live their lives.

Interested but don't know what to expect?
Don't worry! We will provide you will all the tools that you require. You just need to be able to hold a conversation in Bahasa Malaysia!
Do note that there is no transportation provided. Pathfinders are required to carpool to the village.
