We are on a mission to empower communities in Selangor! In September, EPIC Lead Pathfinders began basic mapping and conversations with village leaders to activate their local resources to develop their own communities. We have received their support to take the next step: Community Mapping.

We are looking for individuals to join us as volunteer Pathfinders, to interview community members and collect information that will enable the sharing of community stories in a dignified and accurate manner to invite collaborators to partner alongside these communities to enable positive impact.

About Kampung Orang Asli Busut Baru

Kampung Orang Asli Busut Baru was formerly located at where Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) stands today. They were asked to relocate and moved to their current location, Busut Baru, Dengkil. The village is home to over 400 villagers, they're predominantly of Temuan descent. The village is close to a forest reserve, the North Kuala Langat Forest Reserve. They enjoy weaving, making handicrafts, farming and jungle trekking in their free time.

Who are the Pathfinders

Pathfinders are volunteers in the EPIC Community. They get to know the community on a household level.

What does it mean for you?
As a Pathfinder, you will get to meet families at their homes, speak with them and get to know them and how they live their lives.

Interested but don't know what to expect?
Don't worry! We will provide you will all the tools that you require. You just need to be able to hold a conversation in Bahasa Malaysia!
Do note that there is no transportation provided. Pathfinders are required to carpool to the village.
