Housing for 27 families
The village is home to around 50+ families and growing. It is common for there to be intergenerational families consisting of the grandparents, parents and children living under the same roof.
Many villagers live in PPRT houses constructed by JAKOA. However, as their families expand, the standard PPRT house is unable to accommodate the growing population as a standard PPRT house comprises two bedrooms, one living room, one kitchen and one toilet. There are two versions of PPRT houses in the village - the first version is unpainted and its zinc roof are all rusty, while the second fully painted design adapted from 2010 onwards is commonly seen in many Orang Asli villages.
It is common to see villagers converting their kitchen into an extra room and build a wooden extension outside their house for their new kitchen. For families with more than five people, some will choose to sleep in the living room as there are not enough bedrooms.
Families most affected are newly wedded couples and families with multiple young children. An average of six people usually live in one house - the first Epic Homes recipient for this village lived in a house of twelve people.
Asides from PPRT housing, villagers live in self constructed wooden houses. These structures are often not strong enough to withstand heavy rain and susceptible to collapse over prolonged time.
