Over the past couple of years, the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuing lockdowns haven't just increased unemployment and discouraged job hunting among young adults in the capital's most impoverished areas; they've also heightened poverty levels in public housing around Merdeka 118 Precinct.

With limited space, issues like drug abuse and youth problems have become prevalent as people spend more time outside their homes. Many are forced to juggle multiple jobs, leading to a diminished quality of life. Life in affordable housing is fraught with ongoing challenges, including poverty, substance abuse, and various social and household issues.

Recognizing these challenges, we've identified a potential solution: providing vocational training to equip individuals with the skills they need to support themselves. Thus, we've initiated skill training programs. Our aim in offering practical carpentry skills to unemployed young adults, heads of low-income households, school dropouts, and ex-convicts is to empower them with lifelong abilities for socioeconomic advancement.
