Food Surplus Distribution

Nature of activity: To distribute surplus vegetables / fruits / bakery collected from hypermarkets to our intended PPR flats. Process will be guided by our staff.

Volunteer requirement:

• Minimum age of 18 and above.
• Possesses own transport.

*Volunteers are required to come to Kechara Soup Kitchen's HQ at 17 Jalan Barat off Jalan Imbi for briefing before heading to the food distribution location.

Please note the following: 

• Please be punctual. Roads leading to our office might be heavy. Please plan ahead.

• Our office address is No.17 Jalan Barat, off Jalan Imbi, 55100 Kuala Lumpur.

• For your own safety, please do not wear any ostentatious items such as jewellery, expensive watches and no tight pants / blouse / skirt / dress. Please also wear sneakers or covered shoes and no high heels Best apparel is T-shirt and jeans. If you are participating this for your companies or college events, it is ok for you to wear your respective corporate uniforms.

• We encourage you to wear our Kechara t-shirt for safety reason and easier for our homeless clients to recognise you. Our t shirt is available for every RM35 donation which goes to support our cause. T shirts are available at our office. Otherwise we encourage you to wear red t shirts at the very least so that our team can easily identify you on the street.

• If you are unwell or happened to be pregnant, please do consider your safety and we do not encourage you to come. Do let us know if you can't make it by text so that we can make it available for another individual to come and volunteer.
