The Hope Branch Pertubuhan Haparan Amal Harith Iskander , an NGO committed to serve the underprivileged and marginalised communities in Malaysia is looking to raise RM91k for their next project - which includes three parts.
(1) To refurbish, repair and upkeep 8 homes in Jalan Kapar, Klang. These 'houses' are basically badly maintained shacks which are hardly fit for proper healthy living conditions - holes in zinc roofs, and the surrounding areas are badly in need of a clearing up of rubbish which outsiders have dumped there making it a rife breeding ground for mosquitos and other insects.
It's shocking to see the condition in which families including children are forced to live in.
(2) Monthly living Groceries and supplies for 500 families - ranging from daily needs like milk and sugar to detergent, toiletries, rice, flour, hygienic products and baby milk and nourishment products. The B40 families struggle to make ands meet and need support to maintain the basic necessities
(3) 1000 Meals for homeless - the urban poor community has grown exponentially and a trip down and urbanised part of the Klang Valley will reveal a large community of homeless. If a society is judged by how they treat their marginalised then supporting the homeless to a basic a meal a day- (for a month) is a human right
