A Brief Introduction

Our team of phenomenal group of people have devised ideas on how we should engage in a mission where we could devote our effort and our sweat into providing a better day to the society and the people who need a helping hand. Our group decided to continue a previous mission done by our seniors which is Hand2Heart instead of just being hidden behind the shadow of our previous senior, we decided to come up with Hand2Heart 2.0 with an additional of another mission. Hand2Heart focuses on providing daily necessities which would be required by the B40 community which would include items such as noodles, sardines, rice, milk for the elderly and the kids and not forgetting Malaysia's all time favourite which is the Milo drink. Two members from our group were in a collaboration with Soroptimist International Club Bangsar (SIC Bangsar) they have planned to train and set up the transportation business for a B40 household.

Mission Outputs

Achievement 1 - We engaged with the kids Proximately 20 kids
Achievement 2 - Funds were raised through the sales of chocolate RM 180
Achievement 3 - We provided basic daily necessities 10 packets of biscuit, 10 sardine, 5 maggi, 5 milo, 5 flour, 5 milk powder, 20 stationary sets
Achievement 4- Train and set up transportation business online Created gmail and Facebook account for the B40 member

What has been accomplished

This mission is created to understand poverty and of those in need. It is to be more aware that there are numerous amount of people who are struck by poverty and this mission helps to understand what B40 community in a much better perspective. Besides that, to encourage poverty stricken individuals to be active members of the community. By just providing a little time and a good set of influence by professional speakers from outside those who are struck by poverty could boost their motivation into becoming much more active members of the community. Moreover, the impact of this project is to help provide basic essentials for the kids in the B40 community by educating the kids of B40 with literacy skills and provide them with education tools for their school use or home use. Furthermore, we had the chance to create a sustainable transportation business platform for a B40 household.

Final Words

We from the Sunway University community would hope that more people are aware on the B40 community as they are vulnerable to economic fluctuations, health issues and natural disasters consequences and if possible provide any form of helping hand towards this community as they are struck by poverty and hardship. From doing these missions we have got a glimpse on what the B40 community experience and we have learned a lot from carrying out these missions. Lastly, us from the Hand2Heart 2.0 would hope that the citizens would be more aware of the B40 community and if possible provide a helping hand.
