A Brief Introduction

One Drive One Life is a project, an idea that is close to the heart of each and every member of the group. The idea came about after majority of the members were involved in the issue of driving and driving regardless if it was direct or indirect. Driving under the influence of alcohol has become a norm among youths in Malaysia disregarding the severity of the consequences that is involved in this. Losing loved ones, friends or family members and even strangers to drunk driving has to be something that no one deserves to go through as it is a life changing circumstance. The value of a life certainly does not equate to one lapse of judgement or irresponsibility. A life of one is worth so much more that one night's worth of joy that is caused by alcohol. We as individuals of this project has decided to come together as one to create an awareness, to instill a sense of responsibility, and also create an impact, and understanding that ones life is a greatest gift to their loved ones. We aim to create a much safer environment for everyone by being responsible for the actions that one takes. As drinking and driving under the influence does not only danger your life but also dangers the life of many other innocent souls out there. We, Team One Drive One Life stand our grounds in this issue and hope to make a change and to create a brighter future for everyone tomorrow. 

“Drinking And Driving Is A Gamble That You Just Can’t Win.”

What has been accomplished

 The main aim of this mission to create a better understanding of the causes and the repercussions one has to face when they choose to drive under the influence of alcohol. It is also aimed that to create safer driving space for one another and to be responsible for the actions that one makes and it also impacts the life of others around us. A campaign was held that involved activities to test your impairments under a simulated sobriety test and as well as self-reflection after the activity. The participants were then asked to give their honest opinion and reflections on the whole activity that was conducted. Apart from that, interviews were carried out with medical expert, Dr, Hudah who explained the cause and effects of alcohol on the brain. In conjunction to that, One Drive One Life Team collaborated with the Royal Police of Malaysia as we interviewed Inspector Kavi who touched on the laws of drunk driving and as well as providing professional opinion on this project and as well as providing valuable statistics.

Final Words

To educate, to spread, to instill a sense of responsibility to those who drink in order to avoid all kind of unwanted incident. Moreover, drinking while driving may increase the risk of an individual to get involved in accidents, it might be a fatal ones too. It might also put you and others on the road risk. By failing to hold yourself to a safe standard, you are also telling those most dear to you that is okay to drink and drive. If you care about the lives of your friends, family and children making it clear that drinking and driving is not acceptable is very important. We hope that our social project will be able to raise awareness and also be an eye opener to the community.
